Orthopedic Surgery
Orthopedic surgeries are performed regularly at Cross Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Jordan has attended intensive training courses in various aspects of orthopedic surgery to better serve our patient's needs. From knee surgery to fracture repair, our orthopedic patients receive excellent care to meet their needs. Our pain management protocols help the orthopedic patient to experience minimal post-operative pain. Our post-surgical physical therapy protocols help to speed recovery and increase the success of the surgery.

Laser Surgery
A laser is ideal for a wide variety of surgical procedures for dogs, cats, birds and other pets. Laser surgery can correct many common conditions such as cysts, tumors, warts and infections that occur around the eyes, ears, in the mouth, and anywhere on the skin. Specialized internal procedures are also possible. Our staff will be able to tell you if your pet’s procedure can be performed with a laser.

Radiographs & Ultrasound
Cross Creek Animal Hospital has a brand new, high quality radiology (x-ray) machine and radiograph processor. From a tiny, baby Chinese water dragon, to a great dane, we can take high-quality radiographs to help us diagnose your pet's condition. Ultrasound is a very valuable diagnostic tool used to assess an animal's internal organs. It's available to us through VetSound, a mobile ultrasound service, which generally comes to Fayetteville weekly. A pet that needs an ultrasound can be dropped off in the morning to await his ultrasound appointment and then go home the same night.

Dental Cleanings/Extractions
Routine dentistry is as important for dogs and cats as it is for humans. Scaling and polishing of the teeth, and fluoride treatments are provided for each dental patient. In addition, our doctors perform any dental extractions when and if necessary. More extensive dental needs are met by referral to a board-certified veterinary dentist.

On-site Laboratory
When your pet is ill, it's a comfort to know that our on-site laboratory equipment provides rapid, patient-side laboratory test results allowing fast response to your pet's needs. In addition blood work is run at the hospital on patients who will undergo anesthesia, dentistry, and/or surgery. A professional diagnostic laboratory is available five days a week for more extensive diagnostic testing for our patients. Results are often available in less than 24 hours.

Nutrition Counseling
Good nutrition is critical not just for the growing puppy or kitten, but also for the aging pet, the overweight pet, and the pet with chronic illness. Additionally birds and exotic pets often suffer from an inappropriate diet. Our staff can help you understand your pet's nutritional needs. In addition we carry a full line of therapeutic diets for dogs and cats with skin disease, kidney disease, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and more.

Behavioral Counseling
From aggression, to inappropriate elimination (of urine or feces), to destruction of your house, our animal behavior consultant, Peggy Hager, can help you and your pet live peacefully together again. She provides group classes for puppies, adults and for dogs with advanced skills. She also offers private lessons and house call consultations. If your pet has a specific behavioral issue, she'll help him or her through assessing the problem, developing a treatment plan, and providing you with the tools to modify his or her behavior. Peggy has over 15 years of experience training animals.

Cancer Treatment
If your pet has been diagnosed with cancer it can be very frightening. Our compassionate staff recognizes that and we'll help you understand the options and make informed decisions. Treatment is available for many types of cancer and through compassionate care, appropriate surgical and/or chemotherapeutic choices and regular follow up tests our team can help you and your pet cope with cancer.

Boarding
Cross Creek Animal Hospital is the only American Boarding Kennel Association facility in the area and we provide over 2000 square feet of indoor space and 15,000 square feet of outdoor fenced space exclusively dedicated to the boarding care of your pet. Dogs enjoy the comfort of large runs and kennels in our separate kennel building. Secure, outdoor exercise runs provide both freedom and space during your pet's vacation at our home.

Doggie Day Care provides our guests with social interaction, companionship and exercise while you're away. In addition, Doggie Day Care, is open every week from Monday to Thursday for your pet to enjoy these benefits while you work. Our boarding staff places each dog in the play group appropriate for him or her. Owners often say they enjoy how deeply their dogs sleep after spending a day playing with their friends.

Our feline guests have their own space in our main building and are allowed to periodically roam free in our cat boarding room where they can explore the cat jungle and interact with our staff as their individual needs or desires require.

Grooming
Grooming services are provided by stylist, Annette Thompson and assistant, Erica Wilson. Pamper your dog or cat with spa treatment! Clips are performed to breed standard or your request.

Internal Medicine
The medical staff at Cross Creek Animal Hospital provides high quality, compassionate veterinary care for your pet's medical or surgical needs. Through appropriate diagnostic tests, therapeutic medications, and follow up care our staff manages internal medicine cases ranging from simple digestive upset to diabetes, Cushing's disease and cancer. Dr. Monce, our internal medicine specialist is available for consultation on complex medical cases.

Allergy Testing
Just like humans, dogs and cats can be afflicted with allergic diseases. But unlike with humans, pets' allergies often manifest themselves as skin itchiness (chewing of the feet for example). Through detailed history, thorough physical exam, appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic care, the allergic animal can have relief.

Heart Health
Heart disease is more common in dogs and cats than you might think. Early detection, timely and appropriate diagnostics, and therapeutics when indicated are all very important to your pet's health and wellbeing. Diagnostic work ups for heart disease may include radiographs (x-rays), EKG, and/or an echocardiogram. From the physical examination or history findings consistent with a heart problem, to diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the heart disease, to the therapeutics necessary to help your pet, we will help you understand the options for your pet's health.

Pain Management
We're proud of our progressive approach to pain management and preventing suffering and minimizing pain is one of our key goals at Cross Creek Animal Hospital. Whether we're providing management of chronic pain for the arthritic or cancer patient, or management of the acute pain that can be associated with injury or surgery, our doctors will choose the protocol that fits the needs of your pet.

Physical Therapy
When talking about treating a patient with an orthopedic problem, Dr. Jordan often says, "My job is important but yours is the true key to success of your pet's healing." He's talking about physical therapy. Through up-to-date exercises and routines to increase strength and flexibility and speed healing, our staff will help you understand how to provide your pet with the best opportunity for healing after his or her orthopedic procedure. Physical therapy can also benefit the older arthritic patient.
